Telco Themed Will You Be

One of our Wedding Agency clients Chel & Allan both used to work for Globe. Not only were they co-workers but their relationship blossomed when they were still there so naturally, they wanted to pay tribute to  this by making their wedding theme 'Telco'.

A telco themed wedding could easily go the route of techie and the obvious look would border on futuristic and a little too cold and stiff. But not for Chel & Allan's wedding. For their walkthrough we actually took inspiration from Globe's most iconic commercials that hinged on relationships and communications. Think lots of ribbons (because that's one of the brand's most iconic design elements), and we injected crafty ideas to blend with the techie aspect of it. Here's a few teaser slides from their walkthrough.

We love it when our clients update us on how their wedding preps are coming along and we get super excited and proud when we see some of their wedding projects evolving on their own with the initial ideas in the walkthrough in mind. Chel & Allan commissioned Ruffles & Bells to create the WYBs for their entourage and it turned out very personal and soft. We are so in love with them!

Since the couple and their friends are all techie, the WYB even had QR codes! Ruffles & Bells did a great job into blending crafty & techie into one beautiful look!

Tungsten Wedding Bands

all photos are from http://www.tungstenringsco.com unless labeled otherwise
A couple of months ago, my husband's ring had to be resized and mine had to undergo some intense cleaning. The entire process was gonna take more than two weeks and we weren't used to not wearing our rings. Hence, I decided to get us temporary ones. This is when I discovered about Tungsten wedding bands. Tungsten is the hardest metal next to diamonds making it an ideal wedding band because it definitely doesn't tarnish, it has a very soft surface, plus it's quite affordable. So for those of you who are looking for alternative wedding rings that's more affordable but of high quality, this might be your best option.

"The word Tungsten in Swedish and Danish means "heavy stone." The current name for the element is Wolfram and was founded by Peter Woulfe in 1779 who examined wolframite. Tungsten carbide is the only rare and exotic metal that can promise permanence in polish and finish that will endure until the end of time. What is the hardest metal in the world? Gold? Silver? No. It’s tungsten! Tungsten is the hardest metal in the world only to diamond. Diamond is the symbol of forever love for its everlasting finish which is like the true love that will not be eclipsed by time. Now, I will tell you another symbol of true love, that is, tungsten carbide ring. Sturdy, corrosion resistant, anti-tarnishing, everlasting is the specialist feature of tungsten." --prlog.org

Here are more rebellious Tungsten wedding bands I've found over the web:

Bette + Johnvic's Kate-Audrey-Ronac MashUp Wedding

Photography by Thinking Chair
As they say, there are different ways to skin a cat, and that couldn't be truer than Rebellious Bride Bette & Johnvic's quirky wedding. The Ronac Art Center has been a popular venue for prenups and weddings these days, yet B & J's wedding is definitely unique on its own. And that's one of the beauties of having a wedding in a thriving museum right? The backdrops can change depending on what's being showcased. And with a wedding theme inspired by Kate Spade & Audrey Hepburn, one can just imagine the colors and the quirkiness that can come out of this brilliant idea! So what if Kate met Ronac, who met Audrey? This will probably how it would look like :)

Rebellious Tip: Shoe Clips

I am not a shoe person (must be because I hoard makeup instead). So the idea of buying an expensive pair for my wedding wasn't quite appealing to me. But I caved in and bought Melissa shoes (still not as expensive as branded ones though). Up to now, I have only used it twice. Specially because I had a child right away and the idea of carrying her in 5-inch heels is just plain ridiculous and downright dangerous for clumsy me.

Now, if I have discovered shoe clips early on, I would have bought a more sensible pair. Because it seems like you can buy the plainest shoes and make it look brilliant with them shoe clips!

I first discovered them when I was helping my sister look for accessories for her wedding that was gem-stoned theme. Hidden among the jewellery rack was what looked like giant earrings. Turned out they  can be clipped on shoes or bags. Amazing! So my sister opted to buy simple, nude peep toes in Call It Spring (just around 1k+) and use the bejewelled clips. Practical and reusable and looks super glam in photos as well :)

Throwback Thursdays: Kaye + Rap

What was the VERY FIRST Jason Magbanua wedding video you ever laid eyes on? How did it move you? How did it make you feel? I can never forget the first one I ever watched--experienced might even be a better word. I am a lover of all things creative especially when it comes to Filipino talent and I absorb it like a sponge. Kaye + Rap's wedding video (and their 2008 wedding itself for that matter), is one of the most influential visual love stories that probably inspired and evolved the way I view personalized weddings today.

Prenup High

Though Meanne and Larson  have been together for 11 years (going on 12th on their upcoming wedding day), Meanne admits she and Larson have very different personalities. And agreeing on a prenup idea would be no exception to this. What I love about this prenup was that although the couple wanted to do the usual made-up type of prenup, they didn't just do it the way other couples have done it. Instead, their inspiration came from within--from what they were feeling right now--which is, feeling that natural high of being engaged.
