Isoebelle & Enzo's Senbazuru Love Story

"I started folding paper cranes for Enzo when he went to the states for 2 months...I think that was in 2010. I wanted to surprise him with a thousand cranes when he got back--to tell him that I thought of him whenever I folded the cranes. We ended up using the cranes for our civil wedding last Feb. 11.
I also wanted to carry out this theme to our church wedding so I incorporated it in our prenup photos as well."

This has got to be one of the most meaningful prenup sessions I have ever known. Not for its creativity, not for its beauty. But simply because of the story behind it.

I have often wondered what a prenup's real importance is. My husband and I personally never warmed up to the idea despite much coaxing from Randall of Mangored. Not for anything, it's just not our personality as a couple. But discovering the story behind Isoebelle & Enzo's engagement session, I now realize that it is the prenups with the deepest of meanings and not just having a cool concept that I can enjoy the most.

Isoebelle: The concept is Senbazuru or folding of thousand origami cranes for happiness and prosperity.

Senbazuru was usually given as gifts in Japan to loved ones or weddings. I read somewhere that if the bride and groom are able to fold a thousand cranes for their wedding, they will be blessed with a thousand years of happiness and prosperity. It was also said that it is a testament to their commitment and patience for each other because folding cranes is a really tedious task.

I started folding paper cranes for Enzo when he went to the states for 2 months...I think that was in 2010. I wanted to surprise him with a thousand cranes when he got back--to tell him that I thought of him whenever I folded the cranes.

We ended up using the cranes for our civil wedding last Feb. 11. I also wanted to carry out this theme to our church wedding so I incorporated it in our prenup photos as well.

Isoebelle: For our outfits and makeup, we wanted something that was a bit vintage looking. We used cool colors because a feng shui lady said that my lucky colors are blue and green. The location of the shoot is in our house in Pampanga. We have several greenhouses in our backyard, so that's where we hung the paper cranes.

The best part about this Senbazuru love story? It carried on, all the way to the wedding. And for that we are truly grateful that Teena Barretto thoughtfully tipped us on this.

We are so excited to share with you Isoebelle & Enzo's wedding! This will definitely be one of the most creative, most cohesive, most rebelliously beautiful weddings we've featured for 2012.

So Teena, give us some more of your rebellious weddings! We just love your weddings and your awesome couples! :)
