Wedding Guest Styling: The Wardrobe Edit

Today, we have another wedding guest styling collab with Miss Kayce. Now what do you wear to a wedding when you have no time to plan ahead? The trick is to collect staple statement pieces in your own wardrobe so that you can just instantly wear something incredibly fashionable and unique at the last minute.

Miss Kayce says:

When we say wear something from your own wardrobe, it does not mean "ANY". It means carefully curating your wardrobe and mixing and matching colors and prints to make it more fun or dramatic and not a drab. You can get as creative as you can! It's all in the DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS.

Gentlemen, it's time for you to be a little more bold by mixing prints like stripes and a sort of abstract print dress shirt but this only works when colors are coordinated like this blue pinstriped sports jacket and printed dress shirt in a slightly darker blue, paired with navy blue chinos. This makes the whole look more cohesive yet playful. You can even top off the look with a pocket square of a complimenting color.

And we ladies have more fun because of all the possibilities. Now how to choose when we have a ton of these options? Like I said, it's all in the details. Details sets us apart. You can be in a dress in the same color with another guest but what gives you that edge is that custom embroidery design. Or that you have a nice slightly oversized ruffled hem. You can even go vintage by pulling out some dresses from your mom's closet (which for some is also an extension of your own wardrobe). Another idea is have an old gown or dress, reworked so you can change the whole look and add some details like sequins on the prints or change the cut of the dress.
