Post-Apocalyptic Love

"...when you think about it, it's quite romantic how love could survive on a hostile post apocalyptic world. That is, we chose to love each other at a time when the world was ending. And that for us was romantic."

-- Rebel Couple, Kid & Raf

I am personally still a little bit on edge (and unnerved) from binge-watching The Handmaid's Tale. And the tone and mood of Kid & Raf's DIY (yes, they didn't have any suppliers. They executed and shot everything by themselves!), post-apocalyptic themed engagement session has that same poignant feeling. But as with all kinds of fictional plots, there's always that hopefulness in the form of love, that kind of redeems the whole story.

Kid & Raf shares:

We wanted to feature something different and edgy for our pre-nup photo shoot, something that would showcase both of our talents and interests. And so the initial idea of this post-apocalyptic photo shoot got its final form. Some people thought it was inappropriate since prenup photo shoots usually focus on romantic cliches featuring flowers and teddy bears but when you think about it, it's quite romantic how love could survive on a hostile post apocalyptic world. That is, we chose to love each other at a time when the world was ending. And that for us was romantic. 😉

Half the battle with our post-apocalyptic photo shoot is finding a suitable location. We considered abandoned houses that looked haunted but thought better of it, since we needed to have permission to get into one of these places. We searched online and conducted some ocular visitations until we came across this beautiful farm outside Singapore's central business hub. The location was perfect for the shoot since it has old pallets lying around, building materials and all that kind of stuff which set the scenes for the shoot.
