How coincidental & exciting to discover this new photo shoot session when just the other day, I told the hubb I wanted a photo shoot of our interim home! And here we are today, an uber creative home session from revolutionary architect couple, Jason & Nikki Buensalido.

We are jealous of this couple actually. There, I said it. When my hubb and I got engaged, we were initially not consumed by the wedding preps--we were actually consumed with the thought of owning our very own Sophia house in Mahogany Taguig. So consumed that we visited the site for weeks and weeks, taking our parents there hoping they would buy into the idea. So consumed that I "dorkily" brought the Sophia brochure anywhere I went. But alas, we were unsuccessful to acquire our own Sophia. So today, we bring you a very special photo shoot that Jason & Nikki did w/ Metrophoto. Not only do they own a Sophia house, Jason is actually the BRAINCHILD of this groundbreaking piece of architecture.  And after they wed, Jason together with his wife Nikki (who as mentioned, happens to be an architect as well) conceptualized on how to make a home out of their Sophia.

It's such a wonderful idea to have a photo shoot of your home. It shows how from the wedding, here you are building a nest together. And it's amazing how Jason & Nikki's portfolio of photographs have unfolded. From their prenup, to their wedding, and now their home session. Everything has come full circle. Enjoy!

Joed & Franz' Ranch+Beach Prenup

With prenups and weddings popularly being styled up to the most miniscule of details, ironically sometimes being rebellious is going for the more organic approach. Just like in Joed & Franz' prenup, their natural surroundings were so beautiful already that there was really no need to overly style it. Backed up with an amazing team, their prenup exuded taste and style that almost looked innate as opposed to overt.

Jo shares: "Not sure if this is rebellious enough, but  I just know that we wanted no props as much as possible and no picnic set-up. As a result aside from the clothes and ourselves, our only props were the horses in the shoot and the wonderful head wreath by Dylan of Vatel Manila. It was also raining cats and dogs when we were doing this shoot but J Lucas Reyes (photographer) didn't want the usual rain/wet shots because most photos that he was already seeing lately are full of this. So it was a challenge for him to maximize our dry areas. We were also thankful that towards the end, we were blessed with some golden sun! It was only 30 mins. of fast-paced photography but the results were magnificent."

The bride's sister created a behind-the-scene video for them and I think that's really sweet. And for that, it will be the main highlight of this feature. Enjoy! :)

Rebellious Idea - Of First Looks & New Rules

Well hello there, November! This month, we are starting it right with a rebellious idea....the First Look. Actually, this tradition is nothing new especially in the other parts of the globe. But in our own neck of the woods, this is almost unheard of! Why, if this idea went mainstream I can already imagine the nasty comments (and probably even faints) from our dear 'ol conservative oldies.

So when Rebellious Bride Ivy shared with us her First Look, my oh my was I impressed. I was even more impressed and touched to know that we've inspired her so much to find her 'rebelry'. Here's what Ivy had to say about her rebellious idea:

"I have been visiting Rebellious Brides for months since I started planning for my June 2012 wedding. To say that seeing on your site that there were Filipinas adapting non-traditional ideas for their weddings inspired me to be rebellious in ours is an understatement. :)

On that note, I would just like to share our First Look as covered by Noel Salazar & Jamie Lihan of Imagine Nation Photography.


I first came upon this idea a month before the wedding. I am not superstitious at all. My parents were, but they already allowed for me do a relatively intimate wedding (target guest list was 80), non-Catholic church rites, and non-matching bridesmaid outfits. So, I was sure they wouldn't have minded if we added another non-traditional idea. After all, our engagement and love story was not by any means traditional, haha!

 So, I asked my groom about this idea. He was wary at first but he also had this feeling that we will both love doing a First Look. I also asked Noel's opinion on this and he said he's only done a First Look once and would love to do another one again.


About 3 weeks before the wedding, we decided to have a First Look. We had the wedding day's timeline adjusted to have us be at the location an hour before. Everything went well.
