Rebellious Couple Aiza and AJ are getting married next month and they don't have a Save-the-Date session yet. Aiza is a self-confessed fan of Eat Bulaga's Kalyeserye/AlDub and she watches it every lunch break with her officemates. So when we suggested this AlDub photo/video shoot session for their Save-the-Date, they were super GAME!

Get Your Quirk On
Sharing generous, exclusive deals are a staple here in Rebellious Brides---and usually we announce it when our anniversary is nearing. And this year is no exception to that. We have so many crazy things up our sleeves for this year's festivities and to start the ball rolling, here's one of many anniv surprises.
Welcome to the Wicked World of Rebellious Brides
Hello rebels--old and new! Have you noticed anything new lately? *wink* *wink*
The blog just had a face lift!!!! Hooray! A bit long overdue, don't you agree?
Rebellious Bridal Style: OLIVIA
Occasionally, we blog on simply a bride's style. Zeroing in on how a bride can rebelliously think of a cohesive style that is of course non-traditional, or a bride that chooses color palettes that are refreshing to see, or a bride that is rebellious enough to make her entourage look just as stunning as she is. Lately, I'm feeling like we need to do this more often so that we can inspire more brides to rebel against the usual looks/fashion. And speaking of rebel looks, here's one from a random photo shoot that Quirky Creatives made for Raf & Olivia--this is NOT a wedding nor a prenup photo okay? It was a random pictorial done during a fashion event. But I wanted to feature this because we love NONE-bridal pegs remember? ;)
I love Oliva's Ryan Madamba gown, don't you? I think it makes for an awesome anti-white bridal gown idea! The structure of the dress is so flattering, and the way Olivia looks just completes the look so well.
Tagaytay in Technicolor

When we think of Tagaytay, there's almost a template as to how an engagement or a wedding would look like. So for the Quirky Creatives team to bring out something entirely unexpected? Definitely bold and refreshing, indeed.
Noel Salazar shares: "So, from time to time, the creativity itch bug bites us, and we decide to go and shoot something different, and for fun. This is the result of that bite. Hehe. :D"
Props to the entire team and may ya'll rebel brides get inspired to go for reinvention.

Noel & Rae's "Promniversary!"
Ahhh....prom. We are quite fond of prom here in the blog. Why we even created a prom wedding theme for one of our clients! So when we saw this oh-so-original "Promniversary" idea from Noel Salazar of Quirky Creatives and his wife Rae, we just had to celebrate it here in the blog for them as well!
Nothing like a couple who celebrates their anniversary in the most extraordinary way! My personal tip is to always make your anniversary an excuse to do something for the both of you so that you can: 1) Keep on reliving your wedding, 2)"Review" what you vowed to each other, and 3) Keep your love & marriage exciting, sizzling, happy, and alive. Take for example Noel--Rae had a not-so-happy memory of her prom and that's why Noel thought of creating a new one for her. How sweeeeeet is that? He went all out! The celebration even came with a kick-ass playlist haha. So let's play some Boyz 2 Men and check out this prom, shall we? :)
A Quirky Civil Wedding
"...make no mistake, even though this was a small and low-key wedding, it was still an awesome celebration of their love." -- Noel Salazar, Quirky Creatives
Photography by Quirky Creatives
We always feel like we are the defenders of civil weddings, just because it becomes soooooo annoying that in this culture that we are in, there is a stigma that civil weddings are not official in the eyes of God, or whatever other judgmental silly reasons others have come up with. In the other parts of the world, a wedding, is a wedding, is a wedding. Regardless where or how it is officiated, it is an official ceremony and one that is just as important and as beautiful as all the others. Take for example my three weddings. Do you know who made the most moving, most memorable ceremony we've had? Not the priest, not the pastor...it was ELVIS. Yes, the Vegas Elvis impersonator.
It is after all, LOVE that is being celebrated above all things and that has nothing to do with whether you are having your wedding in the Vatican or in a beach front. That's why we love how Quirky Creatives created a unique concept for Russell and Rachel's civil wedding--that they took it a step further to make the couple's wedding photos as unique and as special as it should be. Enjoy!
Rachelle & Nino's Collective Prenup
The rain has passed and now it's time to move on with more positivity and a dose of good vibes. There's not much to say here other than the fact that Rachelle and Nino were determined not to make their prenup the 'usual' and more-than-the-usual it turned out to be indeed. Props to the team over at Quirky Creatives for making this set look cool as opposed to downright grimy--which could have easily happened with the wrong photographer. Enjoy!
Brides In Waiting - A Quirky Creatives Editorial Feature
I love that more and more creative wedding talents are collaborating to share with everyone their various points of view. What's even more exciting is that the ideas are becoming bolder and quite interesting!
Brides In Waiting. What a simple idea that it's actually right under our noses--yet no one seemed to have thought about it 'till now. Indeed, creativity is in the simplicity.
Veering away from the usual "posy-posy" glam shoot, Noel Salazar of Quirky Creatives and Nio Manzano joined forces to create an editorialized version of the ordinary things that happen during Bridal Preps.

Rebellious Idea - Of First Looks & New Rules
![]() |
| Photography by Noel Salazar |
Well hello there, November! This month, we are starting it right with a rebellious idea....the First Look. Actually, this tradition is nothing new especially in the other parts of the globe. But in our own neck of the woods, this is almost unheard of! Why, if this idea went mainstream I can already imagine the nasty comments (and probably even faints) from our dear 'ol conservative oldies.
So when Rebellious Bride Ivy shared with us her First Look, my oh my was I impressed. I was even more impressed and touched to know that we've inspired her so much to find her 'rebelry'. Here's what Ivy had to say about her rebellious idea:
"I have been visiting Rebellious Brides for months since I started planning for my June 2012 wedding. To say that seeing on your site that there were Filipinas adapting non-traditional ideas for their weddings inspired me to be rebellious in ours is an understatement. :)
On that note, I would just like to share our First Look as covered by Noel Salazar & Jamie Lihan of Imagine Nation Photography.
I first came upon this idea a month before the wedding. I am not superstitious at all. My parents were, but they already allowed for me do a relatively intimate wedding (target guest list was 80), non-Catholic church rites, and non-matching bridesmaid outfits. So, I was sure they wouldn't have minded if we added another non-traditional idea. After all, our engagement and love story was not by any means traditional, haha!
So, I asked my groom about this idea. He was wary at first but he also had this feeling that we will both love doing a First Look. I also asked Noel's opinion on this and he said he's only done a First Look once and would love to do another one again.
About 3 weeks before the wedding, we decided to have a First Look. We had the wedding day's timeline adjusted to have us be at the location an hour before. Everything went well.
The Bearable Lightness of Noel Salazar
It is simply brave of Noel to own up to a title that says QUIRKY wedding photographer. He has defined his market and he has defied the norm. He knows how to have fun because he has pure, awesome TOPAK!

Seeing his body of work, I find so much happy faces and out-of-the-box ideas. It's as if he has some magic charm that makes couple pose like wacky children, making faces and all.

He even has a category called Unconventional Weddings. And my rebellious heart skipped a beat when I saw it. God bless this man!
