The Rebellious Yacht Party

TIP: See the bottom part of this blog post to see our awesome anniversary deals :)

Just a few weeks ago, we decided to celebrate our "Three Years & Eleven Months Anniversary" with a bang. The last time we threw a party was ages ago.  We felt that throwing one at this very moment was just so symbolically perfect as we had so many new things to share with our guests. Particularly, we announced the launch of our Rebelle Youtube Channel and the official joining of our third Rebellious Bride, RB NiƱa Cuenca who will be taking a more active role for Business Development.

Choosing to do a yacht party was almost a "no-brainer." Parties are aplenty these days and we wanted to give our guests a rebellious experience that they would never forget. At times we debated on whether we should have a program or not, but we decided that mingling intimately with our beloved industry friends was all we needed to make the festivities memorable. Another debate that we had was on styling - but eventually we felt that spoiling our guests with overflowing good food and an open bar would probably be more relevant. In the end, we'd like to think that our choices were much appreciated and that everybody had a great time as evidenced by these photos you are about to see.

Planning this party almost felt like planning a wedding - what with the mood boards, styling, cake, catering, invitations, among many other things (we even had preps at Henry Hotel!). We have so many ideas that we can share with you and so we are coming out with a separate article entitled "How To Plan a Rebelliously Fabulous Wedding for Under P300,000" specifically based on how we mounted this yacht party - watch out for that!

In the meantime, enjoy these photos perfectly captured by 12 Masters Photography.
Marvin Dungao, you ROCK!

Jaycee & RJ's Love Story AVP

There are a lot of ways to share with your guests a little bit about you as a couple. Some make a collage of their throwback-worthy photos, some have couple trivia games, and of course there's the tried-and-tested AVP. But with so many talented wedding artists in our own neck of the woods, the AVP has evolved in so many creative ways.

Of Lace, Flowers, and Cupcakes

Photography by Louie Arcilla Life+Style

When you think of the Rebellious Brides, what comes to your mind? Some think it's rock, goth, black, tattoos and whatnot. That's totally not it, though. I for one do get irked when we get compared with Rock 'n Roll Brides. That's totally missing the point. I don't even read that blog.

People who know me personally would most likely describe me as very Kate Spade, colourful, loves cupcakes, all things organic & eco-living, and Harry Potter. RB Mica on the other hand basically loves anything purple haha. Rebelliousness is a state of mind, not a state of your style or preference. And it's not even about what's "in" or not in the wedding scene.

Take for example cupcakes. Some people say that this is already not "uso" in weddings. Is it really about being "uso?" What if just like me, the bride was just simply into cupcakes?!? I am rambling, I know. Haha!

When I saw this editorial feature, I knew I had to have this on the blog. I am totally in love with the anti-white pink and lacey bridal gown! I love the cupcakes and I wanna feature it to make a statement that cupcakes never grow old and whoever said that it's no longer "uso" are weird, and oh how I love the flowers! How rebellious is it to celebrate gerbera for a change? Oh I could go on and on...

A Thanksgiving Backyard Wedding - The One On Foodie, Food, Food!

Photography and Styling by A Dash of Jamie / Jamie Espadilla

“There is no sincerer love
than the love of food.” –George Bernard Shaw
There are a lot of ways to interpret a fall-themed wedding. It could be based on the turning of the leaves, corn mazes, hay rides, to name a few. But when A Dash of Jamie & Jacqs Floral Design Studio approached us for this collaboration shoot, we wanted to be unique in our own way of course! And that's why we thought of Thanksgiving--not just because we have been feeling very grateful right now (Back track HERE), but also because when you think of Fall, it immediately takes you to Thanksgiving and plus, the family-style food spread.

This wedding concept shoot therefore, brings back one of the main wedding elements that has been ironically overshadowed by reception styling -- the food itself. We've seen many, many wedding photos and catering portfolios a hundred times over--and don't you find it curious as to why there are very minimal food shots? You see everything else though, right? The huge floral arrangements, the overwhelmingly themed decors, the shabby chic dessert table--but no food in sight. And then when you do see the food, it's gotta be the fancy kind--fillet Mignon this, baked salmon that. However, guests secretly get hungry after and go for a burger (at the end of the day, guests, especially guys just want fuss-free and generously portioned food). READ ON! >>>
