Rebellious Power Bridal Shoes

I have a confession to make. I'm obsessed with luxury shoes. Don't get me wrong. I don't buy for the "social status" as some would be quick to judge. I actually buy because I'm "kuripot" (stingy) that way. How's that possible you might ask? Luxe shoes last longer. It's all about the quality over quantity. I'd rather have 5 pairs of investment shoes VS having 20 pairs that don't last very long. I've had my fair share of buying affordable shoes that end up destroyed after a few months. So if you ask me, the more practical woman goes for personal items that are well crafted. Yes, it's more expensive, but it will last a lifetime. That being said, my current loves are the YSL Tribute and the Valentino Rockstuds. I was so surprised that I haven't seen brides wear these shoes yet--considering that they are oh so comfy! Everybody seems to go for the Louboutins and the Jimmy Choos nowadays like it is some sort of  "right of passage" -- that it's my wedding and I can splurge. Truth is, they are just like those expensive gowns---worn once and never again. So why not go for the Tributes or the Rockstuds instead? They look soooo rebellious and they are more practical because they are actually comfy. Plus you can wear it after the wedding!

Where do I get my rebellious creative genes? Before school, and before work, there's family of course...and my brother, my sister-in-law, and my sister (who swears she will elope when her time comes)--are all very rebellious indeed.

Rebellious Idea - Studded Bridal Look

When Hindy Weber Tantoco emailed me this picture of a pink studded gown, I knew right away that this was meant to be shared with our dear, Rebellious Brides.

For my second wedding, I wore a pink gown--I didn't even think I was the type who would actually wear pink for my own wedding--but I was more concerned with the fit of the gown as opposed to the color so I went ahead with it.

Some people think that the color pink is just "puke-worthy". On the contrary, Hindy's gown just proves, that pink as a color in itself is not wimpy--it's how the color is actually USED, styled, and designed that make all the difference. This gown may be in the girliest color ever imaginable--but it also looks very wicked. I love it! Very rebellious-worthy indeed!

The Shoe Issue

One fine day, I found myself in a heated debate with Friend #1 who was referring to Friend #2's wedding. Friend #1 said, Friend #2's wedding was nice but she didn't quite understand why Friend #2 wore a red pair of shoes.

I was intrigued and surprised by Friend #1's reaction because I always thought she was an open-minded person. I didn't realize that when it came to weddings, she had very conservative beliefs. So I probed. She said that a white wedding gown, deserves a white pair of wedding shoes--it's what matches, and it's been the custom ever since. To defend Friend #2, I explained that more and more brides now practice wearing colored pumps underneath their wedding gowns. Friend #1's brows raised, she said "Really? I didn't know that. Is that the fashionable thing to do nowadays? It's too casual!".
