Dody and Char: By the Numbers

Screenshots from Jason Magbanua's Wedding Film

Conceptually, Jason says this is his favorite. And I would have to agree. I've been a fan of his work for 6 years now. And as I write this, I am reminded of the very first video I have watched of his, and I am reminded still of why he remains to be the best. It's always about storytelling, never about the fancy stuff.

In the spirit of all the numbers seamlessly and fluently foretold in this film, let me tell you about the THREE SOUND BYTES that I found so beautiful from this film:

Heart and Chiz -- ENGAGED!

Source: HOLA! Magazine

Another celebrity couple are engaged! This time around, it is Heart and Chiz' turn! While there haven't been any official interviews from them, it is safe to assume that the proposal took place just last night. In fact one of the people to post it on Instagram as a "Breaking News" was no other than event stylist/florist extraordinaire, Badang Rueda. Then, some of Heart's celebrity BFFs started posting as well! So exciting!

The DongYan Royal Wedding - What We Know So Far

Dingdong and Marian are soooooo rebellious and we just love it! What makes them rebellious? Well most celeb couples these days are very sensitive when it comes to sharing the details of their engagements and weddings (and rightfully and understandably so). But DongYan are veering away from how other celebrity brides/grooms/couples do it secretly. Instead, DongYan kept their engagement for two years so that they can revel privately. Then BOOM! Once they decided to share it with the public, they are definitely not half-assing it. They promised to be generous with the details, and they really meant it.

DongYan sweetly admits that the fans propelled them as love teams and so they recognize that the public, especially the DongYan fans deserve to be part of their wedding preps. This is such a refreshing concept considering that most celebs would rather keep mum about their wedding details.

And with the advent of social media, fans are so updated more than ever! From the time of the public proposal, 6 days after and they had a live, web-streamed press conference that announced the date and church venue of their wedding. When asked about the other details, they said that they want everything to be finalized before announcing this but in the week that followed, the royal couple posted on their IG accounts the meetings with their wedding suppliers.

So here's what we know so far based on what the couple has been sharing with us!

Rebellious Bride Debbie's Street Style

I am loving the idea of transforming a bridal look into something street and urban. That's definitely something you don't see everyday.

Photography by Midori Moon

We see many, many wedding pictorials attempting to look rebellious just by taking the photo shoot out on the streets. And in the interest of keeping things fresh and new here in the blog, we rarely feature this kind of concept anymore. But Debbie's photo set made it to the blog because she owned it and she expressed her street style sense--wouldn't it be refreshing to have an entire fashion blog dedicated to brides taking their gowns to the street and making it 'pop?' Now that's a million dollar idea right there!!!

Quincy John Y Tampo had this to share about the bride and the concept:

Mycel + Aga's Bohemian Dreams Prenup

Photography by We Do It For Love

I just love it when Rebellious Brides AND Grooms write perfect submissions. Honestly, it makes our jobs that much easier haha! Sifting through submissions can be quite tough, especially since RB Mica and I have stressful day jobs. So thank you so much to Rebel Boho Bride Mycel for taking the time and effort to lovingly pen her own feature.

Freedom. Beauty. Truth. Love. The four doctrines/pillars that Bohemians uphold. Same pillars that I do pray for when I'm at the temple as well. I do believe I am a boho at heart. And that's why I enjoyed Mycel and Aga's submission. I hope you'll enjoy it too.

Proposal of The Year - DongYan

My favourite local celebrity couple finally announced to the public that they are engaged! Woot! They are a rebellious couple in so many ways. Doing their own thing to the beat of their own drum despite bashers and intrigues that didn't leave them for almost 7 years since their first TV show together.

Marian on Mega Magazine
Marian is a rebellious woman. I've always found myself loving her because she's unafraid to be herself. And I  always found myself rolling my eyes on the snooty people who looked down upon her just because she can't speak English based on Filipino society's "standards" whatever that even means. Who effin' cares?!?! She's part Spanish and part Cavitenia (did I spell that right) so she naturally has her own diction. But she's a college graduate, talented, beautiful, feisty, highly professional, and REAL. Qualities that are actually very rare in the industry. They also say she's a war freak--but people don't seem to even care to probe on her side of the story and always somehow opts to immediately believe the side of the other person involved. People love to hate her because I truly believe we have a crab mentality culture PERIOD. But I love her to bits.

I'm happy that they are finally tying the knot. I already have my guesses on who the couple hired for the big day. Do you have guesses of your own? Who would be your "dream wedding team" for DongYan if you had it your way?

Here are clips of the proposal if you haven't seen it yet:

Wedding Idea: The Vegas Vibe / Solaire Wedding

Photography by Metrophoto Unless Labeled Otherwise

Ahhhh Vegas. Haven't you wished or just wondered how it would feel like to actually be in Vegas for your wedding? Whether it's for the bridal shower, the bachelor's night out, or even the wedding itself, a Vegas wedding has been personally on my own bucket list--and that's why we did it for our third wedding. And there's nothing quite like being a Vegas Bride (back track on Round Three Vegas Wedding HERE) We did it all--from applying for our permits, to booking an Elvis wedding, to partying with my husband's friends morning, afternoon, and night, getting a Penthouse, waking up with the most hideous hangover not fully remembering what happened the day before. We had an amazing time, and it will forever be one for the books.

But what if you can't actually go to Vegas? After all, it's not about the place per se--it's the thrilling, crazy fun moments that stick with you.

Enter Solaire.

"Hi there! My husband & I have been civilly married for almost 13 yrs now. We have 2 beautiful kids. And just yesterday, we finally decided to have a church wedding. Months back, Jasper (my hubby), mentioned that he wanted a scenic, intimate, getaway wedding...Batanes was (still is) on top of his head. We were Google searching on "Batanes wedding", when we came across Rebellious Brides. I couldn't help but tear up because your Batanes features are exactly how I envisioned my wedding would be."
