The Wedding Agency - "Mateo High" School Wedding

Not a lot of couples can say that they've been together since High School. That's why when Mark and Jasmine got our services to help them conceptualize for their big day, we took the cue from their love story and thought of having a school-themed wedding which we fondly called "Mateo High" --the couple's married surname.

We Are Seekers Goes Film

Wedding Videography in the Philippines has got to be one of the most challenging to break through. The standards are so high because they were pioneered and dominated by innovators the likes of Jason Magbanua, Bob Nicolas, Threelogy, and Mayad. And it's so difficult because you could easily get branded as a "me-too." But there are fresh new talents entering the scene--and if the name of the game before was to "copy" the greats, now, it's all about veering away from what has already been done and finding one's identity. And that's what I love about We Are Seekers' new brand of film making. As RV Dela Paz asserts, they gathered all their learnings from videography from their previous experiences and created a signature style that is proudly their own--something that's not copied from others.

A Rebellious Bride Reader's Dream Wedding

On July 2013, Rebellious Bride Reader K wrote:

"Hi there! My husband & I have been civilly married for almost 13 yrs now. We have 2 beautiful kids. And just yesterday, we finally decided to have a church wedding. Months back, Jasper (my hubby), mentioned that he wanted a scenic, intimate, getaway wedding...Batanes was (still is) on top of his head. We were Google searching on "Batanes wedding", when we came across Rebellious Brides. I couldn't help but tear up because your Batanes features are exactly how I envisioned my wedding would be."

Pauline + Brian: A Wedding Experience

Photography by We Are Seekers

I love it when couples give their guests an experience as opposed to just being a witness to their union. Take for example Pauline + Brian. Their destination wedding went beyond the ceremony as they made it a point to extend the festivities--basking in the sun and savoring the island together with their guests and chronicling it through photographs that will last a lifetime. The result? A laid back love story that is effortlessly rebellious! View this set! The photos are amazing!

RB Goes Temptation Island

Photography by We Are Seekers

Here in Rebellious Brides, we don't like taking things too seriously. In fact, one of our dream concepts even before we started this blog was to do a tribute on the movie Temptation Island. My matron-of-honor, Anna (the super beautiful girl in white) actually hosted a bridal shower photo shoot for me before I got married--and I think it's a wonderful idea to have a photo shoot like this with your girls in replace of the kinky bridal showers.

This shoot is also a tribute to two of the concepts we introduced in the blog 2 years ago--the "anti-white" (colored gowns) and "white w/ a twist" (self explanatory). Two concepts that were perfectly interpreted for this Temptation Island setting and which, fabulous designer Vidal Clayton of the Cecilio Abad Design Team graciously indulged us with. Each gown used for this shoot was re-constructed just for this shoot, and the gold gown was made from scratch. Clayton never ceases to surprise us! And I hope this encourages all you rebels to consider having a rebellious wedding gown!

And finally I want to talk a little bit more about the venue for the shoot which I think is also perfect for the modernized version of Temptation Island that we were going for. The venue is Sulo Hotel--which, just like the old movie is like a Throwback Thursday of some sorts because it was actually historically circa 1967  'till it was revamped into this ahhhmazing hotel that looks sooo hip and fabulous and can easily be one of those unique wedding venues that only the people in the know would well...know!

Enjoy the feature. "Everybody needs a shipwreck once in awhile." *wink*
