Cha & Marco's Batanes Wedding

Cha & Marco's engagement has got to be one of the most well documented here in RB. We got them for one of our editorial features (CLICK HERE), then we also featured their Save the Date (CLICK HERE), and finally their "Pamamanhikan" Family Prenup (CLICK HERE).

 I can still remember when Cha just recently got engaged. She was dead-set on having a Batanes wedding but for a split second, she got worried that her dream wedding wasn't going to be possible because she thought it would cost millions. We both simply couldn't agree to this at all! RB, through our Wedding Agency Service, helped her do the research and bring her to an ideal budget. 

 Cha & Marco's Batanes Wedding is quite rebellious in so many ways, that we didn't even know how to title this post. In the end we just thought of simply calling it their Batanes Wedding because just like the title, the wedding was no frills, no fuss, but heartfelt on its own.  

 As a Rebellious Bride, Cha identified her key investments and kept everything else as practical as possible. Her non-negotiables included her fabulous Vidal Clayton/Cecilio Abad Design Team bridal gown and Batanes as their wedding destination wedding venue. 

 I had Cha develop her own blog post for her wedding (Phew! Thanks Cha!), so let's get right to it!

RB Goes Temptation Island

Here in Rebellious Brides, we don't like taking things too seriously. In fact, one of our dream concepts even before we started this blog was to do a tribute on the movie Temptation Island. My matron-of-honor, Anna (the super beautiful girl in white) actually hosted a bridal shower photo shoot for me before I got married--and I think it's a wonderful idea to have a photo shoot like this with your girls in replace of the kinky bridal showers.  

 This shoot is also a tribute to two of the concepts we introduced in the blog 2 years ago--the "anti-white" (colored gowns) and "white w/ a twist" (self explanatory). Two concepts that were perfectly interpreted for this Temptation Island setting and which, fabulous designer Vidal Clayton of the Cecilio Abad Design Team graciously indulged us with. Each gown used for this shoot was re-constructed just for this shoot, and the gold gown was made from scratch. Clayton never ceases to surprise us! And I hope this encourages all you rebels to consider having a rebellious wedding gown! 

 And finally I want to talk a little bit more about the venue for the shoot which I think is also perfect for the modernized version of Temptation Island that we were going for. The venue is Sulo Hotel--which, just like the old movie is like a Throwback Thursday of some sorts because it was actually historically circa 1967  'till it was revamped into this ahhhmazing hotel that looks sooo hip and fabulous and can easily be one of those unique wedding venues that only the people in the know would well...know!

How to Create a Rebellious Brunch Wedding

HELLO THERE REBELS!!! Let's get all the apologies, disclaimers, and niceties out of the way first, shall we. First of all, if you noticed that blog updates have been kind of slow for the past few weeks, that's really because I'm on vacation (and by that I mean me as in RB Kai) and well--I've been having too much fun--hihi sorry about that!  Second of all, if you guys remembered a teaser for this post about 3 months ago, that's because this is a long overdue blog feature..and sorry again for that because we had troubles acquiring the photos of this shoot but thanks to stylist/photographer savior Jamie Espadilla we managed to get our hands on some of the photos that she personally took during this shoot! And so there! Let's get right to the feature then! :)

Rub a dub dub...


As we bid good-bye to July, we'd like to end this month by showing you a preview of what coulda, shoulda, woulda been our anniversary shoot special...but alas, the official photos have yet to make an appearance (baka na shipwreck na din ang photographers?!?!).

Rebellious Bride Anj's Boudoir Session

To be quite frank, the majority of boudoir sessions that I've seen abroad are tacky--bordering on amateur soft porn. That being said, here's how it SHOULD be done. With taste, with sophistication, with elegance.

 Rebellious Bride Anj's Metrophoto boudoir session has got to be the BEST boudoir set I've seen yet--not just locally but in the whole of the world wide web. You won't even see the usual lingerie that plague boudoir sessions. Instead, you'll see gorgeous creations from Vidal Clayton of the Cecilio Abad Design Team. 


Thanks for showing us how boudoir should be done, Oly & Madge. For the first time, I could say that I've viewed a boudoir set that didn't make me squirm because of too much tackiness. 

 All hail to Rebellious Bride Anj! This would not have been possible if not for the perfect bride & muse who has so much grace, confidence, and sense of quality.

RB Goes Gatsby, Part 2 of 3

The Gatsby party is heating up as we take you to a journey through this fantastical second part of our 3-part RB Gatsby Special Feature. And this time around, our muse Amanda Tirol takes on the role of the charismatic, enigmatic, leading lady of the book/movie Daisy Buchanan as she models the works of The Cecilio Abad Design Team feat. Vidal Clayton. 

 In this feature, we also finally reveal our Gatsby-worthy Anti-Reception venue location, Casa Roces Malacanan. So pop, fizz, and sizzle and enjoy! 

"It's so you!", Madge Lejano tells me when Amanda comes out wearing her first Clayton gown. And I'd have to agree on that. Clayton is probably my most favorite gown designer right now--and if you've been reading the blog lately, we've been featuring a lot of his works. What's not to love? His gowns are very intricate but not too overbearing. There is a clear deviation from the typical white gowns but there is a balance between the classic and the fashion forward.

Vidal Clayton of The Cecilio Abad Design Team has ARRIVED. Don't you agree? Well Clayton puts oomph to the usual bridal beaded, sparkly gown--knowing all too well, that the new breed of brides also want some color and sass. So yes, in our books he has arrived.
