Welcome to the Wicked World of Rebellious Brides

Hello rebels--old and new! Have you noticed anything new lately? *wink* *wink*

The blog just had a face lift!!!! Hooray! A bit long overdue, don't you agree?

Random Rebellion #51

The video speaks for itself. Such a brilliant idea, executed so flawlessly! Good job as always to The Blacktie Project---but we are all the more impressed with how rebellious the couple is. Though the video is clearly a creative treat, we are also moved by what it symbolizes about love and wedding preps. Kudos!  :)

Rebellious Bunch: The Blacktieproject

"Rebellious brides are not your average brides. They go beyond their own expectations. They're made of sugar, spice and everything in between. These brides want more than just a sweet wedding cake, they want it mouth-watering. These brides want more than just a long white wedding dress, they want it apart from the ordinary and something they can call their own, representing their identity as a woman. These brides want more than just ringing bells, flying doves, golden rings and balloons, they want fireworks. Rebellious brides know exactly what they want and how they want to do it."

-- The Blacktieproject on their definition of the Rebellious Bride

Rebellious Bride Pao's Wedding Style

Photography by the BlackTie Project
It's been a while since we last featured a bride specifically for her rebellious sense of style during the wedding and so we're glad we stumbled upon Rebellious Bride Pao through BlackTie Project's page :)

We admire the bride for being bold enough to allow her entourage to be in white. Not just in white but she made her bridesmaids look like Grecian goddesses! How amazingly 'generous' of the bride to share the spotlight with her girls! And the result? Such beautiful ladies --you can see how everybody is glowing and feeling pretty.

The bride & the girls' looks were both opulent but subtle--the bride sure knew the art of fashion/style editing! And what about those golden details especially the head pieces? Oh they are so gorgeous!

Rebellious Bride Rina's Vidal Clayton Gown

Vidal Clayton of The Cecilio Abad Design Team has ARRIVED. Don't you agree? Well Clayton puts oomph to the usual bridal beaded, sparkly gown--knowing all too well, that the new breed of brides also want some color and sass. So yes, in our books he has arrived.

We zeroed in on the love-filled ideas. Here are the purely rebellious (but beautiful in its own perceived 'oddity') weddings, brides, artists, ideas, and milestones that were featured in RB in 2012.

"I don't just put on makeup based on what I know. I factor in the uniqueness of every bride I meet. By making her feel comfortable and happy, her inner glow is just as beautiful as her airbrushed self. We also believe in making each woman feel like a better version of themselves and not all covered up in makeup. Add in a dash of fun and each session is always enjoyable for us and our beautiful brides :)" -- RB Mica

Many relatives will agree that I was born a rebel kid. But in the real world and in my work place, I have come to accept that the traditional practice, in general, is the best way to make things work out(due to the power of the majority's acceptance). For me then, I'm sort of just enjoying the less exciting traditional world in pretense.

Rebellious Bride Ses on being a rebel kid at heart :)

Rebellious Bride Winsess in BLACK

Boy do we have a once-in-a-blue-moon treat for you guys! When Rebellious Bride Winsess shared with us the story of her black bridal gown, we responded in a heart beat! We love everything about this bride and her gown! Here is Winsess' own account of her rebellious ways:

Rebellious Bride - Ellen

Rebellious Bride Ellen Celis-Timbol's officiator's first words at the start of their ceremony was: "This is the height of wedding innovation". Their photographer, BlackTie Project wrote in their blog: "So far this is the coolest wedding we have covered"

Looking at this wedding gown right here and you might wonder--what is so rebellious about this wedding? Let me tell you---the bride was SO rebellious in fact that she defied the usual bridal gown hullabaloo and donned a TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED PESO GOWN (for the 25% of our International readers, that's FIFTY SIX US DOLLARS).

And that's not all my friends. She wouldn't settle for anything less than BLACK OUTFITS for all the guests and the entourage. You think that's already the height of her rebelliousness? No my dears--she asked everyone and we mean everyone to DANCE on the aisle--and that includes the pastor. And what of the bride? No, not a dance. She was a SINGING REBELLIOUS BRIDE who walked down the aisle.
