Mission Impossible: Save the Date

What an epic video! And guess what guys, this was NOT a professionally done video but rather a homemade one by the groom who is a restaurant owner, the bride who is a doctor, and their family who are all kinds of crazy. You guys have to watch this!

Leean & Jonathan's DIY Save the Date Video

When Leean submitted to us their DIY video saying that there were no videographers and editors who worked on their video, with no assistance even from friends whatsoever, we had our doubts to be honest. In our minds we were thinking, "uh-oh...what is this going to look like?"-- But we were quite pleasantly surprised at how cute their video turned out to be. And not just cute...it was well made! Leean and Jonathan definitely had the eye for this! You guys might want to make it into a little business haha.

Cha & Marco's Batanes Save the Date

HELLO DECEMBER! My, my, how time flies! Before you know it, we'd have to write our annual year-end feature! And for sure one of the things that will come out of that is our new found love for Batanes which we've featured several times this 2013. And here we are again with another feature on this majestic, memorable place. The bride already wrote a beautiful and inspiring story about their wedding so here it is!

My Dream Wedding is a Logistical Nightmare:
An Ode to Batanes by Cha

Michelle + Jolyon's Movie Trailer

"We planned to have a movie-themed wedding so we thought of having a movie poster and trailer for our save-the-date. The open-ended movie (short film) will be presented during the reception, the ending will be staged live. Contrary to the usual entrance (reception) by the couple, our entrance would be portraying the characters in the film." -- RB Michelle

We always love seeing action-packed save-the-date trailers--especially when it's done flawlessly.

So let's all watch the trailer of 'Till Death Do Us Apart -->

Michelle and Jolyon Save the Date from Julius Olaya on Vimeo.

Michelle & Jolyon's movie trailer was clearly a mega production, but it wasn't overly done and it was seamlessly integrated to their entire wedding theme. We also like that they didn't just do this video for the sake of being rebellious. Rather, the wedding theme happened to be movie-skewed so having a trailer seemed like the perfect touch to their theme--and what's more, we are loving the idea of actually staging it as the couple's entrance! Can't wait to see that happen!(so submit that to us as well for a follow-up feature Michelle haha!)

Michelle adds:

Random Rebellion #51

The video speaks for itself. Such a brilliant idea, executed so flawlessly! Good job as always to The Blacktie Project---but we are all the more impressed with how rebellious the couple is. Though the video is clearly a creative treat, we are also moved by what it symbolizes about love and wedding preps. Kudos!  :)

"There And Back Again" - A Save the Date Video

"The video itself is very simple. Instead on rooting the concept in our beginnings as a couple or on the present, we wanted it to focus on the future. No glam shots here. We wanted to focus on the feeling of forever (or at least, "for the rest of our lives, til death do us part"). We wanted to show how real it was, how utterly unglamorous it was going to be decades after the fanfare, when all is spent and everyone's gone, and it's just the two of us."

This has got to be one of the most wonderful Save the Dates we've seen so far. Let this be an inspiration to both newly engaged and already married couples to remember what this wedding hullabaloo is really all about in the end.

Save the Affair este Date Video

Riding on the success of TV shows like Temptation of Wife, Jeli & Ersus came up with an unusual Save-the-Date drama concept that insinuated on having an affair---an idea that other couples wouldn't probably dare to play around with.

The Lakehouse Save the Date Video

"Hubby-to-be came up with the idea of having Il Mare/The Lakehouse trailer as our peg. At first it was a struggle to attain what we wanted to attain for we needed props and all that costumes to portray the time frame, but it was worth it - for we are really amazed at how beautiful our shoot went! Our friends and families loved the idea of this mysterious save-the-date video."
