Cha & Marco's Batanes Wedding

Photography by Joel Salindong Digital Video

Cha & Marco's engagement has got to be one of the most well documented here in RB. We got them for one of our editorial features (CLICK HERE), then we also featured their Save the Date (CLICK HERE), and finally their "Pamamanhikan" Family Prenup (CLICK HERE).

I can still remember when Cha just recently got engaged. She was dead-set on having a Batanes wedding but for a split second, she got worried that her dream wedding wasn't going to be possible because she thought it would cost millions. We both simply couldn't agree to this at all! RB, through our Wedding Agency Service, helped her do the research and bring her to an ideal budget.

Cha & Marco's Batanes Wedding is quite rebellious in so many ways, that we didn't even know how to title this post. In the end we just thought of simply calling it their Batanes Wedding because just like the title, the wedding was no frills, no fuss, but heartfelt on its own.

As a Rebellious Bride, Cha identified her key investments and kept everything else as practical as possible. Her non-negotiables included her fabulous Vidal Clayton/Cecilio Abad Design Team bridal gown and Batanes as their wedding destination wedding venue.

I had Cha develop her own blog post for her wedding (Phew! Thanks Cha!), so let's get right to it!

RB Goes Gatsby Part 3 of 3

"You're worth the whole damn bunch of them."
-- Nick Carraway says to Gatsby.

Determined, passionate, charismatic, lived life to the fullest, and a fine taste in shirts. Qualities of the Great Gatsby. Was there any other choice for this role?

Candidly Pretty's DIY Workshop at the Trade School Manila

We'd like to personally invite you all to attend Koni Esteban of Candidly Pretty's "bartered" class on DIY making! And you gotta hurry because the class is almost full!!!

The class is "bartered" because this class is the brilliant idea of Trade School Manila wherein knowledge can be passed on to students without necessarily paying for a fee--instead, you can barter with what the speaker/teacher wants to get! How cool is that? For example, Koni will be sharing her knowledge on DIY crafting and she'd like to barter the following items below! And as you can see, there's only 4 seats left!!!

We absolutely LOVE, LOVE the idea of barter for knowledge--heck, we believe in a barter society w/o money! And RB Mica and I are also interested to share some of our own knowledge too--on weddings, on makeup, on Pinoy green living, and so much more! CLICK HERE to sign-up for Koni's DIY class!

Speaking of Koni, check out her handcrafted wooden spoon idea below! :)

As an organic advocate/neophyte eco warrior, I truly appreciate that Koni Esteban of Candidly Pretty made wooden utensil options for weddings. There's A LOT of waste that goes on in each and every wedding. So injecting sustainable and eco-friendly ideas show that we actually care for Mother Earth in our own little ways.

Why are wooden utensils better? First of all, even if guests opt to leave it for the trash it can be segregated after the reception under the pile of recyclables. Second of all, it will lessen the number of dinnerware that has to be washed which consumes a lot of water and toxic dish washing liquid products. And third of all? Why, it's a simple but wonderful detail to have of course! :)

Candidly Pretty's Fabric Letters

While Fabric Letters are easily bought in some specialty boutiques, not only are they expensive but they are also small. Enter Candidly Pretty's handmade letters--each are a labor of love and are sized just right. Koni makes sure that each letter is picture perfect for your prenup or wedding photos/videos, and even couple's booths because they are actually visible! Haha.

Candidly Pretty's Dessert Table & Party Favors

Freelance crafter Koni Esteban of Candidly Pretty and her friends were recently in-charge of visualizing and implementing the dessert table and party favors for an intimate party. Here's how their team made it all happen:

Koni: I was thrilled to be in charge of the dessert table! I decorated it with fabric-covered letters and hand-stitched mini buntings that were intricately made with LOVE =)

Koni: Leah entrusted me to work on the party favors. With the theme in mind, I came up with these pretty pastel-colored hankies.

The Tale of The Giant Paper Flower

Photos by John Sy
When I was thinking of a clever blog title for this feature, I instantly thought of something that sounds like a children's book, a fairytale, or a fable. Because there's just something about giant paper flowers that make me feel like I'm in some magical whimsical wonderland.
