The Wedding Agency - "Mateo High" School Wedding

Not a lot of couples can say that they've been together since High School. That's why when Mark and Jasmine got our services to help them conceptualize for their big day, we took the cue from their love story and thought of having a school-themed wedding which we fondly called "Mateo High" --the couple's married surname.

Passion Cooks & Mango Farm's Barn-Themed Wedding

It's crazy how I've forgotten to publish this long-overdue, drafted feature considering that we always refer to this set every time we recommend Mango Farm and Passion Cooks to our clients. What's not to adore? Each detail was obviously a labor of love and you can't help but smile just by imagining the many charming moments to be shared with such a fun, fun wedding theme! Loving all the earthy, local, sustainable, and eco ideas that were brought to life!

Passion Cooks Does Carnival

RB Mica always says that when looking for wedding ideas, she actually prefers looking at children's parties because they are just more imaginative and carefree. Today's feature is just that--a carnival theme for the young at heart :)

Passion Cooks shares from their Facebook Page:
"Jimar and Susie opted for a whimsical theme: Carnival! :) Enjoy the photos, everyone! :)"

Rebellious Bride Precious Lara's Gown

Photography by MangoRed

When we saw  Precious Lara & Marco's wedding, we immediately wanted to feature it on the blog--not only because it was a rebellious celebrity wedding but more so because the bride donned a rebellious gown. So we instantly thought of interviewing Rebellious Bunch - Veejay Floresca to know more about this fantabulous gown and this is what he had to say:

Veejay: When I was asked by Lara to make her wedding gown, I was so happy and very nervous!!! haha.. I know this is going to be a celebrity wedding and a lot of pressure was on me since she won Miss International. When I knew that she was pregnant, the whole pressure was doubled! haha.. but like the basic rule when dressing up a woman, hide her flaws, flaunt her assets. I applied this rule. She has super nice legs, I showed it off--it will make her walk easier, and I made the skirt voluminous and soft to hide the tummy. I chose a blush color because Lara doesn't want a traditional wedding gown ;-)

While I was in San Francisco, I saw this beautiful lace and I immediately bought it without even looking at the tag! hahaha ;-)

Rebellious Bride Kim's Cuban Wedding

"A rebellious bride to me, should not let tradition or expectation from others get in the way of what she truly wants."

Rebellious Bride Kim Morales-Healey on her definition of a Rebellious Bride

Here in Rebellious Brides, we don't mind featuring weddings that have been published elsewhere--especially if it is a rebellious wedding from the Philippines that has been featured in a foreign blog. To us, it's not so much on whether the content is old or new, but rather, it's about unfolding a new side of the wedding story.

This is the case with Rebellious Bride Kim, whose rebellious beautiful Cuban wedding got featured in Destination Inspirations (Click here for related article). And a bride who--get this---wore a Mantilla veil (YEY! Click here for related article).

Rebellious Couple - Ses & Ben's Whimsy/Goth Mashup Wedding

Photos by The Black Tie Project

Many relatives will agree that I was born a rebel kid. But in the real world and in my work place, I have come to accept that the traditional practice, in general, is the best way to make things work out(due to the power of the majority's acceptance). For me then, I'm sort of just enjoying the less exciting traditional world in pretense.

Rebellious Bride - Ash

I've attended a lot of weddings since I was a little girl. From flower girl->bridesmaid->maid of honor :P and one of my hobbies is "people watching" and you can see from their facial reactions and gestures that some are happy, bored, sleepy etc. That's why I told myself that I wanted my wedding to be the reflection of US. So we incorporated most of the things that WE (includes our family, relatives and friends) all enjoy so everybody will be happy and enthusiastic. We wanted our guests to be comfortable and feel at home. Para lang kaming nasa isang malaking inuman!

Rebellious Bride Ash Baun - Zafranco on her Pinoy Pop Happy Fiesta Wedding

Goodness gracious where to even begin with this rebellious wedding?!?! From this Rebellious Bride's name, to her anti-white gown, to walking down the aisle with a 7-year old teddy bear, and defying the conventional principal sponsors by actually choosing their own contemporaries aged 20-30 as their ninongs and ninangs, this wedding was just definitely rebellious!

Lot's of things to share about this happy rebellious wedding so let's start!

Rebellious Couple - Ramon & Vina : The Robots & Kombis Wedding

Photos by Paolo Feliciano
"I guess because I just went for what Ramon and I really wanted; putting aside what people expect from us and of a wedding. In the end, we had a wedding that is truly ours that all guests enjoyed. Until now, I still get giddy hearing people talk about how much fun they had during the wedding. So did our wedding rock, no…it was C.R.A.Z.Y."

on their Rebellious Robots & Kombis Wedding

I LOVE THIS REBELLIOUS WEDDING, PERIOD. The creativity and the texture are just in a whole other level. So because I really think this wedding is so special, I wanted someone close to the couple, be the one to sum everything up.

So as the couple's best friend (who also walked down the aisle with that clever entourage role) Anna Antonino would put it: "This wedding is a spin on beauty and the geek. Seemingly mismatched individuals coming together perfectly. Just like their theme."

We've waited for this wedding for so long (well, just a little over a month or so--but we were excited!), so let's get on with the show!

Rebellious Brides: What were the elements of your wedding that were of the "Rebellious Kind"

The Theme: Robots and Kombis - I collect VW Kombi toys. And why robots? Well, the groom thinks he is one.
