We've never really been the type to shy away from color.  Even if it's the slightest hint of nude that's just quietly peaking through,  it will always excite us more than just an all-white bridal gown. There's just something about it that feels raw, real, and effortlessly chic.

Heroes and Rebels (Tats and Tanya Part 1)

This is a story of a boy with a guitar who loves a rebellious girl in Doc Martens. They had a common love for music and madness (and lots of vinyls!). They are inseparable. Then they decided to get married rock and roll style. Or they decided to rock and roll and get married. They had an epic wedding, of course. Mostly because they are epic themselves. You see, Tats and Tanya are madly in love. But not the cheesy kind that makes you squirm at times. Theirs is the love that has grit and longevity like a familiar hand that's always there to comfort you. Their love is like hugging a pillow after a long day and knowing you're home at last. 

Yes, that kind of love we love.

This is also a story of the girl with the 13luckymonkey engagement ring from almost two years ago. She hated the wedding planning but that didn't stop them from making their big day amazing. She even got another proposal two days before their wedding day. 
The boy with a guitar was making sure there was no escape! 

So they got married a day before Valentines and on the boy with a guitar's birthday. He's name is Tats and you guys should read his vows to his wife Tanya:

"I love you from the beginning till the end.
From when I open my eyes to when I search for your hand before we sleep.
I want nothing more than to wake up beside you and ignore alarm clocks.
I'll Ignore the world to just watch you breath.
I like holding your hand and thinking what they will feel like 10, 20, 30 years from now.
I can do this everyday and be happy forever. 
This wedding is epic and its beautiful and it’s such grand a bonus because I already love what we have.
Normal Vanilla stuff like walking to work, sharing sips of coffee and watching too much tv.
We may not be perfect but what we have is heaven.
I want you everyday.
Over and over and over that it aches.
And It’s you that I want.
Some say that’s called being crazy and it’s true. 
I have loved you to the point of madness. 
And trust me it’s the only way to love. 
Because once you love mad you’ll never be sad.

And I want to punch the air but there’s a pastor beside us so I’ll settle for this wonderful feeling in my heart.

 This is their wedding video. Tanya was in a Jeep Rubicon during her wedding entrance. She was not riding at the back, she was driving it like a true bad ass bride! That alone should make you want to watch this video! No clickbait needed!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

While we patiently wait for the official wedding photos, we'd like to share their equally rebellious prenup shoot. It was all about being themselves and just hanging around places they liked, no fancy shmancy stuff. We specially liked how instead of traipsing about in some picturesque location, they decided to show the rawness of places like Bangkal St. in Makati, Philippines. It's hipster feels mixed with an indie movie film 
(more on the grit and minus the sex scenes).

Starring Tanya and Tats.

Go grab your coffee, your smokes, play some music and just hang around with these two lunatics. They're a fun bunch and they mixed very well with the equally mad boys of 
Mango Red.

Tanya: I'm still on a high over last saturday's shenanigans. 
To everyone who shared that moment with us.
Who witnessed the insanity,
That moment proved that you can love hard and party harder. 
To you guys who told us that we've ruined weddings forever and who said we inspired them to fall in love and even want to get married again. 
To our ninongs and ninangs, our Pastor and his lovely wife, whom we look up to so much, who didn't judge the choices that we made and actually stayed on to witness us go crazy. And i heard from my mom and dad, naloka daw kayo, ha! 
To our friends who couldn't go but sent their love. (You missed a hell of a show, BTW!)
To our parents, who raised us to be the silly ducks that we are. And they didn’t have any idea what we were up to. 
To my husband Tats (NAKS!) who allowed me to run around and be free, to feel that being married doesn't mean that I will be cast in ball and chain. 
To God who makes all things possible. 
Thank you couldn't cut how we feel.

More than the event,

The love we felt, we will never forget. 

And in that moment, we were infinite.

Non-Mainstream Wedding Destination >> Portugal


With all the craziness that goes on in planning a wedding, sometimes you just can't help but wonder if it's better to just pack-up your bags and do the wedding somewhere else with a grand vacation in between. No? 

Here's a concept that we did inspired by that basic mindset that some couples these days would rather just travel as they celebrate their union in a place that moves and inspires them. In this case, we went for another non-mainstream destination to do just that. This time, in Portugal.

Love Play: Rebellious Brides X MangoRed


To those who have been with us since the blog's infancy stage, you would probably recognize these photos from a special daily countdown that we did for Rebellious Bride Mica's wedding day. 

In a lot of ways you could say that this was technically our very first collaboration shoot for Rebellious Brides. And yet this is the first time we are releasing these uber rebellious layouts for everybody to enjoy. 

This collab shoot was made possible by no less than the ultimate rebel gang MangoRed who simply told RB Mica, "Let's Shoot!" 

To which Mica replied, "GAME!" 

They say that such concepts are too trendy and will not look timeless in the long run. It's funny though but this shoot was like 4 years ago and it still remains relevant and current in 2015. And as RB Mica would say, as a couple they didn't aim for timeless. Rather they aimed for a time capsule - a screen capture of how she and her husband Marc were like during their engagement & wedding.  And so we hope these ideas will inspire you to just enjoy your preps. Don't over think the wedding, Just PLAY. Because the most candid, unadulterated, organic moments are the most fun to capture and remember.

Metrophoto Captures The City of Smiles


The Masskara Festival in Bacolod, Philippines is one of the most iconic, biggest, and most electrifying fiestas in the country.

While most people think the word originated from the word mask, the word "MassKara" is actually a portmanteau of Filipino and Spanish words created by the late artist Ely Santiago which literally translates to a mass of faces. It's also considered a pun on the word "Mascara"--that Filipinos put on a mask of smiling faces during the Spanish colonisation.

The fiesta is a massive annual celebration with parades, street dances, a showcase of local food, and so much more. Every year the masks and celebrations change and evolve but it's always about the vivid colors and the local artistry.

To be able to pull off an engagement shoot in a fiesta of this size is quite unbelievable. Surely, only a rebellious couple would consider it. And Melissa and Wed are definitely of the rebel kind. 

No less than our very own Rebellious Bride Mica was part of the team that pulled-off this shoot as the bride's makeup artist. That alone is an indication that this Metrophoto shoot has RB written all over it.

When I first knew about the Masskara prenup, I got excited! I already knew that it was going to be rebellious. This was C-R-A-Z-Y! We had to follow the moving parade during the shoot. It was very challenging but totally worth it.

The Rebellion Hits 2 Million

This blog of ours is grounded on love. It all started because we found the love of our lives and it (the blog) saw us through a lot of milestones and (mis) adventures in a span of four years. It started because we had an insane amount of passion for weddings. It started because we simply love to be there for brides who were like us. The unlikely princesses who refuse to wear the glass slippers and wear Melissa shoes instead. We are surviving, breathing, because of love. And we send it all back to all you, all 2 million views. Love and good vibes and gratitude for keeping the love alive for Rebellious Brides.

Return to Opulence: A 1920s Wedding

Being both from advertising agencies, Kitty and Vince have a keen eye for beauty. Hence, it was all about glitz and glamour. It was a wedding where you excitedly realise you can wear your silk gloves and not look overdressed. In fact, the point was to wear your best pearls and fascinating fascinators! 
Just like the good old times.

Rustic Carnival Prenup

How can you go wrong if you're featuring a couple from the wonderful world of advertising? Agnes is a Client Services Director while Dan is a Creative Director. But because both of them decided not to take themselves too seriously with their engagement shoot, they ended up in Star City.

Although they would have easily opted for a perya -- the Philippine's version of the travelling carnival but much less posh -- had they found one.

Looking at their photos though, you'd think they're in a carnival abroad :)

Wedding Agency: JP & Bonsai's Retro Brunch Wedding


This wedding is close to my heart because I was witness to Bonsai and JP's love story from the very beginning. You see, the bride used to be my roommate! And ever since Bonne handmade and The Makeup of Mica started, we have done numerous collaboration shoots. \We even call ourselves partners-in-crime :)
