The Rebellious Yacht Party

Just a few weeks ago, we decided to celebrate our "Three Years & Eleven Months Anniversary" with a bang. The last time we threw a party was ages ago.  We felt that throwing one at this very moment was just so symbolically perfect as we had so many new things to share with our guests. Particularly, we announced the launch of our Rebelle Youtube Channel and the official joining of our third Rebellious Bride, RB Niña Cuenca who will be taking a more active role for Business Development.

Choosing to do a yacht party was almost a "no-brainer." Parties are aplenty these days and we wanted to give our guests a rebellious experience that they would never forget. At times we debated on whether we should have a program or not, but we decided that mingling intimately with our beloved industry friends was all we needed to make the festivities memorable. Another debate that we had was on styling - but eventually we felt that spoiling our guests with overflowing good food and an open bar would probably be more relevant. In the end, we'd like to think that our choices were much appreciated and that everybody had a great time as evidenced by these photos you are about to see.

Planning this party almost felt like planning a wedding - what with the mood boards, styling, cake, catering, invitations, among many other things (we even had preps at Henry Hotel!). We have so many ideas that we can share with you and so we are coming out with a separate article entitled "How To Plan a Rebelliously Fabulous Wedding for Under P300,000" specifically based on how we mounted this yacht party - watch out for that!

Stephanie & Raymond's Fall-Inspired Wedding

There's something so utterly beautiful and comforting about fall. As I excitedly prep for my upcoming Oregon trip, I am definitely in a summer-to-fall-state-of-mind. When I saw Raymond & Stephanie's wedding, I knew it had to be in the blog because we rarely have fall-inspired wedding themes in our neck of the woods! And why not? Just because we technically don't have autumn doesn't mean we can't be inspired by it. We are loving the colors and the emotions of this wedding. In the advertising world, there's a technique called "creative alchemy" and that's when you are bold and twisted enough to combine two things that don't seem to work together so you can form a totally new brilliant idea.  Fall + Native Filipiniana = R+S's Rebellious Wedding. Kudos to the rebellious couple for creating this 1+1=3 rarity!

When we first met Karein & Cyril last year, it was very clear that both of their families were vested in their relationship. The family will be very much involved in this wedding--there was no doubt about that. 

So when we conceptualized three ideas for them, we threw one that was inspired by the main message or lesson from the movie My Greek Fat Wedding--simply put, we presented a wedding idea that was more of a mindset rather than a wedding theme. Usually when families are highly involved in the wedding it spells out conflict and wedding madness--but what makes this concept rebellious was the fact that we proposed to even highlight what could have been the 'opposition'. "If you can't beat them, join them", we explained.

 We suggested some elements on what can make the wedding feel family-oriented and sentimental. Family style big tables, lots of picture frames, woodsy details, storytelling of the couple's 11-year relationship, and sweet doodles/illustrations make for an interactive, warm and inviting mood that creates even more bonding moments together. The rule of thumb was to make everyone feel part of the family.

 While conceptualizing wedding ideas is one of the main thrusts of our Wedding Agency service, at the end of the day we'd like to think that more importantly we help our couples unleash their own individual creativity. And Karein & Cyril is the best example of that. While Karein religiously followed the wedding elements that we proposed, she also further improved it to make it her own. This is collaboration at its best and we immensely enjoyed seeing the ideas brought to life to new heights!

 No, we are not about to expand our blog into debuts. HOWEVER, just this once, we are going to make an exemption because we feel so very proud to have had Rebellious Debutante Lea Cruz as our client for our Wedding Agency/Consultancy service. "My personality makes me a rebellious bride. I wanted our wedding to be an experience for us all. I wanted them to be comfortable. Not only was it obvious in the styling of the venue but also seen in my outfit. I was always worried of having sore feet and the uneasiness of wearing a gown so I told my designer that I wanted my gown to be elegant and modern but very very comfortable. And indeed, I felt like a model getting married. I don't like wearing panty hose so I wore striped knee-high socks and I also wore Chucks with wedge because I like to run and to dance."

The guys over at the 12 Masters Photography called this the "Funky Rebellious Wedding" and called the bride, The Rebellious Bride. And we couldn't help but gush at the thought that both catch phrases are becoming quite popular these days.  Cathy and Roy's wedding is easily labeled as rebellious with the black & white theme and the plethora of Chuck Taylors. But what makes this wedding distinctively rebellious is the styling. We are absolutely blown away by the bride's beetlejuice-inspired knee-high socks, the flapper head pieces, and the entourage ladies in their uber cool ensembles that are so refreshing to look at in the sea of templated looks that are usual of entourage get-ups.

Savor every photo and moment folks. We don't get very much rebellious wedding styling like this to go around.
